Podium Skate | X Games Am Results
Congratulations to Jack Olson and Zion Wright for earning the top positions in the first ever Podium / X Games Am Street and Park Qualifiers. This qualifier allowed amateur skateboarders everywhere a chance to qualify for X Games Minneapolis located at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
For this qualifier judging was done on the app as well individually judged and scored by the four selected X Games Pro judges. This includes Billy Marks, Neal Mims, Alphonzo Rawls and James Craig for Amateur Street. For Amateur Park, each clip was judged by Lincoln Ueda, Neal Mims, Alphonzo Rawls and Billy Marks. Results were calculated from a total of 5 judge scores. This includes your overall score on the app as well the top four X Games Judges for each category. Each individual score on a clip is averaged together to create the result and determine placement on the leaderboard.
Minneapolis local and 3rd Lair skate shop rider Jack Olson earns a well-deserved first place in the Am Street qualifier. Jack put down some of the gnarliest tricks in his 30 second submission. Some of the highlights include a switch back feeble down the Hollywood 16 as well taking down some of heaviest kinked rails around. All terrain ripper Zion Wright from Jupiter Florida qualified in first in the Am Park qualifier as well as second in Am Street. With such versatility, there is no question on how Zion ended up so high on the Podium.
The top 3 qualifiers will go straight to the finals along with the three skaters preselected by X Games for each event. Jack and Zion will be headed to Minneapolis Minnesota to compete in the X Games Amateur 6-man final for their event as well as the other top finishers for both Am qualifiers. Other top finishers for Am Street include 2nd place Zion Wright and 3rd place Alex Midler. The other top finishers for Park include Asher Bradshaw 2nd and Jagger Eaton 3rd.
