We’ve been working with Alana for a long time and have watched her ripping progress every year. This year, amongst a fierce pack of competitors at the Vans Combi Classic, Alana separated herself from the rest by going higher and faster than an already impressive string of runs. Top contest regulars like Allysha Bergado, Lizzie Armanto, Julz Lynne and Amelia Brodka raised the bar from last year, putting together run after run of amazing skateboarding. A new face from Japan, Kisa Nakamura come out swinging with big airs, a miller flip and even a Unit 540. Nothing could prepare the packed audience around the pool for Alana’s 6’+ backside airs, speedy backside hurricanes and smooth back tails in the round. Finishing it off with a blunt to fakie on Duncans Diving Board, the audience, and the judges, were thoroughly impressed.
Another stand out of the competition was Brighton Zeuner. She recently built a Build At Home Skateparks custom ramp in her backyard and has been at since day one. With the support of an awesome skate family and a strong passion, we weren’t surprised to see her rise to the top of an epic crowd of competitors. Her flawless rock and roll slides, stylish big airs and perfect gay twists brought her to the podium for the 14 and under group.
One thing is for sure, the location of the bar doesn’t seem to mean anything to these girls. They are progressing faster every day and are changing skateboarding for the better.
