We’ve had the privilege and pressure of working with Danny Way for many years. Through the joys, fears, conquests and intensities, we’ve been right there, fine tuning and creating, helping Danny do his thing. Achieving the impossible is no easy feat, and he seems to have an elementary drive to pull the evolution of skateboarding forward with him, off the lip and higher than ever before.
With top tier athleticism and focus comes the requirement for pioneering ingenuity in the form of world class facilities and creative structures. Working alongside Danny, we’ve combined our collective knowledge to help him achieve his goals as safely and consistently as possible, while still letting him push as hard as he feels he needs to. Whether it the need for a little more speed, an angle adjustment, or a revamp, our full service ramp building expertise and passion allows us to evolve in the moment.
Word around the office is that he’s working on something new… Something big. When you hear Danny’s got something new, you automatically think “big.” But when you hear the word “big” emphasized on top of a Danny concept, everyone in the office starts to get very nervous. Then you remember it’s Danny, and he seems to know what he’s doing. From jumping out of helicopters into vert ramps, to consistently breaking world records, Danny has a knack for transcending fear, being in the Flow and manifesting the reality of a moment he’s foreseen.
Before we can let the cat out of the bag on Danny’s latest venture, let’s take a look back at the last build we did with him. From working on his original giant ramp concept at Point X Camp for the DC Video, to annually evolving what that original idea evolved into… the X Games Mega Ramp, heading to Danny’s private Hawaiian residence was something new and exciting. Check out this segment from DC Shoes about the implementation of Danny’s dream, and what it was like to watch it come together from the perspectives of everyone involved.
